Working within a generalized classroom gave Brittney experience in provided universally designed supports in order to help children at all levels feel successful and achieve! Brittney’s career led her to the Dayton area where she obtained her certification in Orton Gillingham, a multi-sensory approach to reading. After moving to Dayton, Brittney began working in Huber Heights City Schools as lead teacher of a 4th-6th grade classroom providing intensive support to children with various behavioral challenges. She also continued her time volunteering at the Dayton Dyslexia Center. During her time working in the Lower Elementary classroom last year at OTC, Brittney was inspired by how teachers and administrators are able to know the children’s strengths and interests on a deep level to fully tap into the potential of every special child to shine. Brittney and her pup-baby Maggie live in Dayton. In her time outside OTC, Brittney loves painting, hiking, gardening, tutoring children in reading, and spending time with family and friends.
