Message from our Head of School:
Rabbi Noah Kunin

"We are living in unique times"—words that could ring true in any era. Yet I have reason to believe that now, they are exceptionally true. We stand in the aftermath of the Holocaust, witness Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel for the first time in nearly 2,000 years, and see more Torah being studied throughout the world than ever before. These are extraordinary times, and we have the opportunity—and possibly the responsibility—to prepare for the shift from galus to geulah.

Having left Eretz Yisrael over fourteen years ago and worked in communities spanning from Australia to Germany and now here in Cincinnati, I have come to the conclusion that this shift begins with our children. They are the ones who, be"H, will usher in Mashiach as members of the Nation of Kohanim, helping to fulfill Hashem's mission in the world—Bayom hahu yihiyeh Hashem echad ushmo echad.

With this recognition, here at Ohr Torah we dedicate everything we have to preparing our students for this sacred mission, and we believe it begins with becoming an eved Hashem. Moshe Rabbeinu's journey as the quintessential eved Hashem began with two key qualities that we foster here at Ohr Torah: deep care for others and unquenchable curiosity. His care for his Jewish brethren and his protection of Yisro's daughters exemplified genuine concern for people in need. His curiosity at the burning bush exemplified a desire to understand Hashem's world more deeply.

These same qualities guide our classrooms every day. We foster kindness by creating an environment where children learn to notice when others need help, practice resolving conflicts peacefully, and develop empathy through caring for their classroom community and one another. We nurture curiosity by giving children the freedom to explore, ask questions, investigate the world around them, and discover answers through hands-on learning. When a child spends extended time immersed in our carefully designed environment, we see these foundational values taking root.

This is the education we offer at Ohr Torah: one rooted in timeless Jewish values, brought to life through a nurturing environment where every child can develop into a caring, curious, and committed eved Hashem. We are privileged to partner with families who share this vision and are honored to play a role in preparing the next generation for their sacred purpose. If you would like to learn more about our approach or explore joining our community, we invite you to reach out—we would love to welcome you.
