Student Uniform Requirements
All Students

School clothing should not contain rips, noticeable patches or flashy neon colors.

Items on wrists should be limited to one on each, including a watch.

No makeup, hair dye/extensions/sprays or temporary tattoos.

No roller skate shoes or light up shoes. Shoes must have backs and must be secure. No crocs or sandals.

Please note that the designs on backpacks, folders, and other school supplies should be compatible with the standards of Ohr Torah.
Girls – Preschool & Kindergarten

Hair - should be sufficiently pulled back to keep out of their eyes.
-
No jeans, denim or cartoon characters.
-
Skirts/Dresses (Kindergarten) - at/below knees
-
For added coverage, those who choose may wear shorts of lesser length underneath

Skirts or jumpers.

Shirts - short or long-sleeved
-
Hooded sweatshirts with hoods down, may be worn at school.

Socks - must match; no brightly colored.

Rosh Chodesh/Shabbos/Yom Tov outfits may be worn that are within dress code (optional)
Girls – Grades 1–8

Hair: Pulled back neatly in ponytails.

Parents must supply ponytail holders.

Skirts/Jumpers: Navy pleated skirts (Grades 1–3 may wear jumpers with an elastic knife-pleated skirt and V-neck top).

Length: At least 2 inches below the knee for Grades 1–6; 2–3 inches below the knee for
Girls - Grades 7–8

Shorts may be worn underneath for added coverage.

Shirts: Long sleeve button-downs or polos in light blue, light pink, burgundy, navy, or white, covering the collarbone.

All buttons must be closed (except top button on ByStyles and Freilich brand button-downs).

Outerwear: Solid black, gray, navy, or burgundy zip-ups, sweaters, or vests may be worn over shirts.

Legwear: Knee socks or tights without logos or words.

Special Days: Dressy outfits within dress code are optional for Rosh Chodesh, Chagim, Shabbos, and Yom Tov.

Accessories: One necklace allowed

Nail Polish: Clear or subtle pastels
Boys – Pre-Primary & Kindergarten

Hair - should be neatly trimmed; starting at age five it should be under 2-inches in length

Yarmulke and tzitzis at all times.

Shirts - short or long-sleeved

Socks - must match; no brightly colored, attention-grabbing socks.

Rosh Chodesh - Shabbos/Yom Tov outfits may be worn that are within dress code. This is optional.
Boys: Grades 1–8

Hair: Neatly trimmed.

Yarmulke and Tzitzis: Worn at all times.

Pants/Shorts:

Grades 1–3: Navy or black shorts (optional) or pants with no cargo pockets.

Grades 4–8: Navy or black pants (no shorts, no cargo pockets).

Shirts:

Grades 1–6: Long or short sleeve polos in light blue, burgundy, gray, navy, or white, or white button-down oxfords.

Grades 7–8: White or light blue polos or button-down oxfords (tucked in preferred).

Socks: Solid navy, black, gray, or white, always covering the ankles.

Special Attire (Optional): Black Shabbos pants, white button-down oxford, and tie may be worn on Rosh Chodesh and certain chagim as listed on the Ohr Torah calendar.
